Camp season is fully underway at St. Francis Center! We had our first session of over-night camp at Camp Whittle in Big Bear last week, and our youth had a great time horseback riding, doing low and high rope courses, making arts and crafts – there was even a petting zoo! They were at camp for a week, and returned this past Saturday.
Our youth wanted to say thank you for making summer camp possible!
Every summer, SFC sends children of the extremely low-income families we serve through our pantry service, on site and now also at our satellite pantries, to camp.
In the beginning of August, we will be sending another group of campers to Camp Bob Waldorf in Glendale for week-long overnight camp, where they’ll be swimming, hiking, and much more!
Our Youth Summer Camp Program leaves a lasting impression on youth by connecting them with nature and engaging them in a variety of activities that open their eyes to new opportunities.
