Yesterday we kicked off the first of our holiday gift wrapping and toy distribution events!
27 volunteers from SoCal Gas spread holiday cheer to 66 of our pantry service families, which included over 200 children. A great big thank you to SoCal Gas for making this special holiday event possible!
St. Francis Center’s staff and board of directors anxiously await this time of year because we get to share the joys of Christmas with families and individuals who otherwise wouldn’t have the means to enjoy a holiday feast or exchange gifts.
In addition to serving special holiday meals with all of the fixings to our homeless guests on Thanksgiving and Christmas, St. Francis Center works with numerous organizations and parishes to provide holiday baskets filled with groceries and holiday goodies, an Adopt-A-Family program where families get Christmas wish lists generously fulfilled by our donors, and several gift-wrapping and toy distributions for the children of the near homeless families we serve.
