Please welcome our new Volunteer Coordinator, Corinne Fisher! She joins us as part of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC), which is a year-long program that places young people in various volunteer positions across the country that work to alleviate poverty.
She is originally from Longmeadow, Massachusetts and is a recent graduate from Fairfield University in Connecticut, where she majored in Communication and minored in Marketing. During her undergrad, she worked in Fairfield University’s new Student Programs office, where she planned various first year student programs. She is excited to bring her communication and interpersonal skills she gained in college to the Volunteer Coordinator position.
Corinne decided to be a part of the JVC program because she believed it would be a great opportunity to learn more about herself while also helping others. She wanted to be a part of the St. Francis Center team in particular because she has always been passionate about the issue of poverty, and was intrigued with how comprehensive SFC’s programs are.
“They serve breakfast, have the pantry program, summer camps for children, and more. I find it so unique how the center doesn’t just focus on serving one population in need.”
Corinne hopes that St. Francis Center will continue to grow in the future by receiving more recognition in the community and being able to serve even more people.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing with her dog, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new cities (like Los Angeles)!
Help us welcome Corinne to the SFC team!
